Mampoer Festival 5 JUNE 2027

The Original Mampoer Festival, held at the historic Willem Prinsloo Museum in Pretoria East, offers visitors a unique opportunity to experience South Africa's rich agricultural heritage and celebrate one of the nation's most iconic distilled spirits—mampoer. This festival is deeply rooted in tradition, showcasing the distillation techniques that have been passed down since the days of the original Willem Prinsloo Family, who cultivated and distilled on this historic farm.

Beyond mampoer, the festival immerses visitors in the broader agricultural history of South Africa. The indoor exhibition area features antique vehicles such as donkey carts, horse-drawn carriages, and spider carts, while the outdoor exhibits highlight vintage farming tools and machinery, evoking nostalgia for a simpler, agrarian way of life.

Whether you’re here to sample authentic mampoer, learn about the traditions of distillation, or simply enjoy the vibrant cultural atmosphere, the Original Mampoer Festival is a must-visit celebration of history, heritage, and community.
